Barnsley Green Sprint
Vector Design Concepts, wins high profile South Yorkshire project.
The landscape division of Vector Design Concepts has won a prestigious project to design and incorporate the Barnsley Green Sprint within one of its most sensitive sites. The concept for the green sprint is one of Barnsley’s main aspirations for the town’s major regeneration scheme and takes the shape of a pedestrian route from the Town Hall to the Barnsley football stadium and the Metrodome leisure centre.
George Barnes, landscape designer for Vector Design Concepts, comments, "it is great that towns are now realising the need and importance for integrated landscape schemes to compliment new developments and improve in town permeability. Public landscaping has evolved from a last minute afterthought to an imperative design stage that plays a large role in the makeup of a successful townscape."
This development will surely create an iconic gateway to the fast emerging town centre of Barnsley.
